Chairman Turner's International Ball

The honorable Jeffrey E. Turner, Chairman of the Clayton County Board of Commissioners is hosting the 4th Annual Chairman Turner’s International Ball.  This prestigious event will celebrate the rich heritage and diversity within Clayton County.  Clayton County is home to numerous nationalities as well as international businesses with over 60 languages spoken throughout the county.  This event also serves as a fundraiser for a local nonprofit that serves Clayton County.

This year's proceeds will be donated to Safe America, a 501c-3 non-profit that works to protect all citizens.  Based in Atlanta and with its Training Headquarters in Marietta, Jonesboro, and College Park, Georgia.  For over 25 years the Foundation has built programs to save and protect lives.  A few of their programs include :


  • SafeTeen America-since 2001, they have trained over 10,000 teens in how to drive

  • Cycurity-a program aimed at rescuing internet risks including financial hacking

  • HUMANS CARE-a program to fight sex trafficking

  • VET TRAN- providing transportation to veterans

  • WORLDSAFE- launched with Delta Air Lines and Holiday Inn, WORLDSAFE is a re-emerging platform helping address issues impact people globally

  • Safety App- a new smartphone app that can protect you anywhere you are


Last year nearly 300 people came to enjoy an array of sights and sounds from all over the world represented here in Clayton County, GA.  We hope that you will join us in the celebration and our fundraising efforts to support our event this year. 

This event will be following all CDC guidelines and safety measures for events due to the COVID-19 pandemic







The event will be held on September 28, 2019, 6:30-10:00 pm at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, College Park. 

The proceeds from the event will be donated to Marvelous Light Empowerment Association, Inc. (MLEA), the nonprofit which oversees the Woman University (Woman U) program.  Woman U provides services, educational opportunities, and resources to equip women to become community leaders and business owners through a creative, supportive global network.  Currently partnered with Hearts to Nourish Hope’s Stabilization Program, which helps individuals to improve and increase the quality of life for eligible families, Woman University is growing strong in Clayton County.  Since it’s inception, Woman U has produced several new female business owners, increased employment marketability, and created numerous community leaders who are now part of the solution and advocates for their families and others, throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan area..
